This particular card was designed for the high performance gaming market with an eye to home theater PC functionality. Full of features and adaptable to almost all your video graphics, the ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 9800 Pro pushes ATI to the top of the video card food chain even though the price is high but then again, value is where you find it. For now the ATI line of graphics cards seem to get the lion’s share of the video card market, and deservedly so. Once again we tackle the ever increasing responsibility of capturing the essence of what can only be described as the world’s hottest and fullest functioning video graphics card known to man. And if it isn't done right or the tapes is damaged the card may not work correctly. It is safer once installed to have those resistors removed rather then just taping over the pins. Doffo, I actually appreciate that you've included the resistor mods and the details for flashing a 64k rom. Either way, just figured id throw in my two cents. Even if you've only got a 64k rom, you just substitute a reduced rom for the original rom and do the same. Your guide makes it looked more complicated then it actually is.

I flashed it with the original Apple rom, taped over pins 3 and 11 so I could later remove the tape if I wanted to install the card in a G5 and popped it in my FW with my LCD monitor hooked to the VA output. Any more info anyone wants to put on here is welcome! A lot more detailed, and includes several mods I didn't bother with. Thanks for the extra info! So far it worked on MorphOS with the reduced rom, but if there are problems ill flash it with the full K since the card did flash ok with it.

Also the XT runs hotter and louder with Pro rom, so better to install some ram heat sinks and even then you might end up with corrupted graphics due to cracked solder joint under the ram chips. My other MB Pro card flashed fine with the latest v That might mean it won't work in Morphos.

Just getting ready for the R3xx drivers to be released. Turns out some XT boards hated certain Mac bios.
It is K in size, and I didn't find a "reduced" version that is V Version were the only ones to work with these XT board designs that had MB. I will certainly tell people about this website.
